Uli Schneider studied Musicology, German Philology and Pedagogics at the University of Cologne.
After his succesful Masters-Degree he began studying Music Pedagogy with Gottfried Engels. He
finished his exams with distinction. Schneider was participant at several Masterclasses with Ulrich
Lau, Thierry Barbé, Francois Rabbath and others. He was participant at several further educations
in Europe with international renowned teachers like Caroline Emery, Cathy Elliott, Jan Alm and
Christian Mortensen. Schneider teaches regularly at national and international courses for Double
Bass such as Biarritz International Bass Academy, Baltic Bass Festival and other internationally
recognized festivals. In 2010 he founded the Double-Bass-Teachers-Association in NorthrhineWestphalia/Germany (PAK NRW) together with other Bass-Teachers. Since 2014 he is head of the
Teachers Association as well as member of the ESTA and the ISB. Schneider is a mini bass expert
and teaches at the Music schools Solingen and Langenfeld and is as well teacher for Double Bass at
the Musikhochschule Cologne/Wuppertal. He regularly plays as a freelancer with professional
orchestras like the Duisburger Philharmoniker and the WDR Funkhausorchester.
